Underground canals

There is a maze of canals below the ground in many places. They regulate the flow of waste water, rainwater, and meltwater. Such canal systems have been in use for ages. Find out the name of a large waste-water channel, which was built in 600 BC in ancient Rome. Today, the waste water collected in the canal system is cleaned in waste-water treatment plants. Where is the waste water from your home city cleaned? Find the answer by inquiring at the local municipality office and visit the treatment plant.
