What was the route of the first regular passenger train?

The first regular passenger train, launched in 1825, shuttled between the English cities of Stockton and Darlington, covering a distance of about 15 km. Five years later, a longer railway stretch between Liverpool and Manchester was inaugurated. This railway was built for the steam train, which brought about a major change in rail transport. The steam engine had been invented earlier in the beginning of the 18th century. Soon the first 'steam car' was running on the roads of England. A few years later, people began using it on the rails laid in and around mines.
