Helicopters are always needed at those places where aircraft cannot land. They are often called in to rescue people stuck in emergency situations at sea, on mountains, or on highways. They are also used to deliver necessary relief supplies to people in disaster-hit areas or to transport heavy loads. When the wings of a helicopter rotate at high speed, a high degree of buoyancy is created and the helicopter ascends in the air. Helicopters can change directions, land precisely, take off vertically, or hover in the air like dragonflies, depending on how the pilots manipulate the rotor blades.
