What does Pluto look like?

Because Pluto is so far away from us (5.9 billion kilometers), we do not have any pictures of its surface and we know very little about it. However, a spacecraft is on its way to Pluto in the summer of 2015. Astronomers with the help of calculations predict that Pluto has a thin atmosphere containing nitrogen. The average surface temperature is expected to be around-230'C. They predict that Pluto has a rocky core with outer layers made of ice and loose rock.
